Charts and runway

Insights is four charts, and each one is there to answer a question rather than to look like a dashboard. You get to it from the Debts tab → Insights, or from the Expenses tab.

What each chart answers

Runway: how long the money lasts

Runway takes your average spending over the period and your current assets, and says how long one will last at the pace of the other. It is shown in months and days, with the average expense it is based on, so you can see why the number is what it is.

This is the number worth watching after a relocation, when income is irregular and the question is not "did I overspend this month" but "how much time do I have".

Periods, and what is free

Tap the period at the top to choose it: Months, Quarters, Years, Last (the last N days), or Custom for an arbitrary range. Past and future are both offered, so a range can reach forward — though what lands in it is transactions you dated in the future, not ones marked Planned.

Any period up to 31 days — a calendar month, or the last 30 days — is free. Quarters, years and longer custom ranges are part of Walletable Pro, which starts with a free month.

Filters

Charts can be narrowed to selected wallets instead of all of them, and the money flow chart can be switched between types: Expenses, Debts & Loans, Transfers. Change Visible Currency reads the same numbers in another currency without touching your main currency in Settings.

How to see spending by category

  1. Open the Expenses tab — it is the categories breakdown and nothing else.
  2. Tap the period at the top and choose it.
  3. For more than categories, go to Insights → Money Flow and use the switch above the chart: Categories, People, Transfers, Users.

How to see the split by wallet and currency

  1. Open Insights, from the Debts tab → Insights or from the Expenses tab.
  2. Scroll to the Assets chart.
  3. Use the switch above it to read the same money as Currencies or as Wallets.
  4. Change Visible Currency reads the whole thing in another currency without touching your main one.

How to see the month's difference between income and expense

  1. Open Insights and find the Income & Expense chart.
  2. Set the period to a month.
  3. Switch the chart's granularity to Month — the two bars stand against each other, with Difference as their delta.
  4. For a single number across any range, pick Custom as the period and read the same Difference.

Questions

Why is my transfer not in the expenses chart?

Because a transfer is not an expense — moving money between your own wallets does not make you poorer. Transfers have their own type in the money flow chart, so they are visible but kept out of your spending.

Does spending by person include debts?

The money flow chart has a breakdown by person, and the Debts & Loans type covers what was lent and repaid. Normal expenses can also carry a person, which is how shared costs show up next to the name they belong to.

Can I include planned transactions in a chart?

No. Anything marked Planned is left out of every chart, the same way it is left out of your balance — until you apply it. If you want rent or salary counted ahead of time, enter it with a future date and without the Planned flag: that one does count, in the charts and in the balance both.

Can I get the numbers out of the app?

Yes. Open a transactions list and share it as CSV, Excel or plain text — see backups and export.
