The main currency is the one your totals are shown in. It is the first thing the app asks during onboarding, and you can change it later in Settings → Main currency.
Changing it does not convert anything or rewrite your history. Each wallet keeps its own currency and its own amounts; only the converted total is recalculated, at current rates.
Money changed from one currency to another is a transfer, not an expense — otherwise a trip to the exchange office would look like you lost the money.
A transfer keeps both amounts: what left one wallet and what arrived in the other. The rate is whatever those two amounts imply, so if the exchange office gave you a bad rate, your records show the bad rate and not the official one.
From a rates service the app refreshes on its own in the background. They are used for one thing only: converting your totals into the main currency. Amounts you entered are never touched by a rate change.
Yes. The app keeps the last rates it downloaded and keeps converting with them, so the total is never blank. It catches up the next time you are online.
Yes. On the Insights screen, use Change Visible Currency to read the same charts and totals in another currency. The main currency in Settings stays as it is.
No. A currency is chosen when the wallet is created and is fixed after that — on the edit screen there is no currency field at all. If one was picked by mistake, make a new wallet in the right currency, move the money across with a transfer, and hide the old one from Home. Its history stays with it.
There is no limit on either, and no limit on the number of transactions. This is free.
